You can post an ad about a vacancy or find skilled workforce either by Internet or via state institutions and headhunting agencies. Croatian Employment Service is a state institution that has a detailed overview of demand and requirement of available workforce in Croatia. Is there a possibility of using EU funds for foreign investors in Croatia?

Since Croatia is a member country of EU, all Croatian companies (companies registered and doing business in Croatia) have the possibility of applying for and using EU funds. Starting from 2014. Croatia has at its disposal more than 1 billion EUR per year from structural and cohesion funds. Are there any incentives available for investors?

Investors wishing to invest in Croatia are given certain incentives prescribed by laws and regulations governing this field (The Act on Investment Promotion). The incentives refer to corporate income tax reduction, incentives for opening new workplaces, training, capital expenses etc. In order to become a beneficiary of the incentives certain preconditions have to be met: minimum amount invested (for SMEs and large companies is 150,000 Euro with the condition of opening 5 new workplaces or 50,000 Euro for micro entrepreneurs with the condition of opening 3 new workplaces); and investment in a certain business activity (manufacturing activities; development-innovation activities; strategic business support activities and activities related to high added value services; touristic activities – 4 plus star hotels).
